As part of the ‘Digital Supply Board’ cluster collaboration project, SATIAMO has taken the lead in developing a platform that intelligently connects all stakeholders.

Supply chains are becoming increasingly complex. Disruptions, sustainability requirements and bureaucratic hurdles are complicating procurement logistics for industry.

As part of the cluster collaboration project ‘Digital Supply Board: Digital communication and control platform for creating process transparency in the procurement logistics of industrial companies’, SATIAMO GmbH, in a leading role alongside six industrial partners and one academic partner, has designed a prototype interface for a digital communication platform which is intended to bring transparency to the procurement logistics of industrial companies. This ranges from monitoring the status of ongoing deliveries, through the management of inbound deliveries at the plant, to the reporting of the CO₂ footprint in CSR reporting.

Transport management in the procurement process

What makes the Digital Supply Board unique is that transport management is integrated into and mapped within the procurement process – from the delivery notice right through to delivery. This generates a digital Advanced Shipping Notice (ASN), which makes delivery information available to all parties involved at an early stage, in a standardised and transparent manner.

This renders Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, telephone calls and email correspondence obsolete. Via the platform, the manufacturing company can check in real time to see the status of the delivery and the time slot in which it is due to arrive. The Digital Supply Board offers a collaborative solution that intelligently connects all stakeholders in procurement logistics – transparently, sustainably and efficiently.

Duration and aim of the project

The cluster cooperation project ran for 18 months and concluded in the spring of 2026. The aim was for all participating industrial companies to test the prototype, simulate real‑world procurement processes and identify potential coordination and process shortcomings in supply chain management, so as to have laid the foundations for a solution ready for implementation by the end of the project.
